Which files are downloaded from the game server and how? +
You securely register your game server with us by entering the FTP access data provided by your server operator. Our system downloads all relevant log data except chat logs. In addition, existing JSON files such as parameters.json, generalzonemodifier.json, economyoverride.json, spawner and quest data are downloaded, but no server or admin INI files.
How is the data processed? +
The admin tool uploads all relevant log files and JSON files to our own server. The data is processed directly from the *.log files via various PHP and JS scripts. None of this data is stored in a database. Log files older than 30 days are automatically deleted.
How secure are my server and access data in the Online Admin Tool? +
Security is our top priority: your access data is stored encrypted. In addition, no sensitive data such as chat logs or INI files are downloaded or stored. Access is granted only to the authorized account holder.
Which game server providers is the Online Admin Tool compatible with? +
With all server providers (e.g., GPORTAL) where you can a) download log files and b) navigate via the server provider’s file manager to the directory "SCUM/Saved/Config/WindowsServer". Unfortunately, this is not possible with providers like NITRADO.
What happens to existing configuration files on the game server when I start the trial period? +
Existing functional files like "EconomyOverride.json" are recognized by the tool and can be edited by you. Existing data is only overwritten or changed when you save it in the tool and upload it again to the game server.
What happens if data is deleted on the game server? +
If you delete JSON files from the override folder of the game server, the default game settings are used.
Can changes in the settings be undone? +
Yes, either you use the tool to undo individual changes, or you delete the respective file (e.g., parameters.json, generalzonemodifier.json, economyoverride.json, etc.) directly from the override folder via the server provider’s interface.
Can I harm my game server through the SCUM Online Admin Tool? +
No, that is not possible. None of the changes you make with the tool can harm the server. In the worst case, adjustments will not be applied, and the game automatically falls back to default settings. The tool has been extensively and thoroughly tested.
When does the 3-day trial period start? +
The trial period begins as soon as you have created your personal user account for the Online Admin Tool and click the "Start Trial" button in your dashboard. Before that, you enter your basic data such as name, address, and email during registration. The free trial period starts only after you start the trial in the dashboard – so you can decide when it begins.
Where can I redeem the discount code? +
Simply enter it when extending your subscription, and the discount will be applied.
What happens to the JSON files I uploaded to my game server during the trial period via the tool? +
These files remain on your game server even after the trial period ends and without extending the subscription.
Is the Online Admin Tool [SCUM Module] still being developed? +
Yes, definitely! Many more features are planned, such as custom spawn zones, targeted loot adjustments (e.g., for individual boxes), and sharing user-created quests with the community.
Can I delete my server entry in the Online Admin Tool even if the subscription has expired? +
Yes, that is possible at any time. All registered login data (FTP) will be deleted from our database, along with all downloaded data needed by our tool.
Are the times in the log files converted to my local time? +
Yes, the log times are converted – please be sure to specify your time zone in your data.
How many game servers can I register with my account? +
One. But this will soon change to two.
Are other languages offered besides German and English? +
Yes! We are working on additional language modules such as Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French, Polish, Russian, Thai, and Chinese.
Is there a Discord channel or a page where I can ask questions about the tool? +
We have set up a closed forum that every user of our tool can access. There you can ask questions, share ideas, and exchange with others anytime. Once you have successfully set up a game server, you will automatically get access to the forum and receive the login details by email. If you have questions before registering, feel free to email us at contact@datasentra.de.
